NHC are seeking applications to the position of NHC Technical Director of Coaching, which has recently become vacant. This is a temporary arrangement (February through to July) until the permanent position can be advertised and appointed to in July 2022 (at the area AGM)
The successful applicant will have a particular responsibility for implementing and delivering technical programmes that support the development of NHC area coaches, players, and clubs. The Role
NHC are seeking applications to the position of NHC Technical Director of Coaching, which has recently become vacant. This is a temporary arrangement (February through to July) until the permanent position can be advertised and appointed to in July 2022 (area AGM)
The successful applicant will have a particular responsibility for implementing and delivering technical programmes that support the development of NHC area coaches, players, and clubs. The role profile for this position is provided in Appendix A.
Duties Include:
1. To advise the committee on technical judo matters and coaching related issues.
2. To maintain up to date information on area coaches and their levels to inform development opportunities.
3. To liaise with BJA Development and Technical Officers on current initiatives.
4. Lead on the recruitment of area coaches.
5. To have oversight on any related grant/funding applications and their distribution, as appropriate.
6. To remain up to date on Technical and Coaching issues
7. To build strong partnerships with partners such as County Sports Partnerships.
8. To act as principal contact with BJA staff, ensuring as far as possible, provision of BJA Coach training and development opportunities are available within the NHC.
9. To arrange/co-ordinate an annual Area Technical Conference coach revalidation) event.
10. Support the Area Committee with development and implementation of an Area Strategic Plan.
11. Prepare and distribute a coaching Report prior to each Area Committee meeting.
12. To assist in the production of reports with recommendations as requested by the NHC Committee on any related issues.
13. To represent the NHC area at relevant national and domestic workshops and seminars.
Coaching Qualifications and Experiences
Any coach applying for the NHC Technical Director of Coaching position, must be a BJA Level 3 Coach as a minimum, be DBS checked and have a minimum grade of 4th Dan.
