NHC Coach Development Course 2018
Summary
An initiative to create a long term benefit to the delivery of judo in the NHC, through a structured coach development programme in Japan.
When: 24 May – 5 June 2018
Where: Matsumae Judo Juku, Musashino, Tokyo, Japan
Matsumae Judo Juku was founded by former IJF President, Dr Shigeyoshi Matsumae. It is managed by Bosei Gakujuku, part of the Tokai University Educational System.
Who:
Leaders: Teruyoshi Yamaguchi, Mike Callan
Participants: Coaches and Officials from the NHC. Male and female.
Accommodation: Apartment in Musashino area. (About 20 mins by train west of central Tokyo)
Selection: By application and interview.
Content: A structured development programme to increase understanding of Japanese judo. Coaching methods, training methods, technical matters, culture and philosophy.
Based at Matsumae Judo Club. Visits to; Kodokan. Kodokan Library and Museum. Tokai University. Eishoji Temple. Kano Grave. Discussions with Kodokan and Tokai University sensei.
The emphasis will be on education. The selection process will seek individuals with an open mind to best benefit from the educational process.
