Dear Colleague, first I hope you and your family and friends are safe and well.
The BJA recently opened the voting for the position of President and for two Non-Executive Directors. I am one of the candidates standing for the position of Non-Executive Director. The BJA sent candidate information to nominated club contacts, and I would encourage all club members to have sight of this information which is posted below.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Dave Clark and I have been involved with Judo at all levels for over 40 years. We are in unprecedented times and the sustainability of our clubs and the health and wellbeing of our members and volunteers is of vital importance as we navigate our way out of the pandemic.
My experience as a former Director of the BJA and the skills I have developed during my career in local Government mean I can help British Judo (our clubs and members) recover from the effects of the Covid pandemic quickly and effectively.
As an Area Chair and Club Coach I know that grassroots judo is the lifeblood of our sport. I will make certain the Board prioritises helping local Clubs rebuild their memberships so we can continue giving members of our community a chance to participate in our fantastic sport – we do this by putting the health and wellbeing of the judo community at the forefront of our decision making, and in a way that we can support each other.
This is the most important election in the BJA’s history. We need to ensure that the right people are in place to help British Judo come out of this pandemic stronger than ever. I will do my very best to make sure that everyone is treated equally.
My experience makes me uniquely placed to provide the management, oversight, and scrutiny we need to get this job done. Together we can make our Association strong again.
I hope I can count on your support.
Every member and volunteer of our association matters.
